Program Description:

Course:  EDEL 434: Cambodian Culture, Education, and Diaspora

Course Description:  Examination and analysis of conditions leading to the diaspora of Cambodians during the Pol Pot era and to resettlement in California, including social and psychological effects for individuals and families. Examination of current educational issues in Cambodia and local Cambodian communities.  
Includes a volunteer service component, including working with Hearts Without Boundaries.  
Letter grade only (A-F).

This is a CSULB short-term, faculty-led study abroad course.
