Course: BIOL 454B/554B: Research in Terrestrial Tropical Ecology
(students enroll for spring 2019)
Travel costs: $750
(students are also awarded a $900 cost allowance)
Course description: Students will learn to read and critique papers from the primary literature and participate in class discussions about these readings; formulate novel research questions about tropical ecology; design and execute experiments to answer these research questions in a tropical ecosystem; analyze data and report results to colleagues via an oral presentation. The travel portion of the course will take place at the Organization for Tropical Studies in La Selva, Costa Rica.
