Course: ANTH 440: Ethnographic Field School in China
Approximate Travel Cost: $2,016 + $180 for Visa

Course Description: This three week course offers students an opportunity to engage in visual anthropological projects – including ethnographic film, virtual and augmented reality – that document the struggle to preserve cultural heritage among the Yao Minority Peoples in the mountains of southern China. Student-led production teams will collaborate on VR, AR and film-based oral history projects that will be featured in area National Minority museums, as well as in film festivals and online platforms in the U.S. The course will be taught by Professor Scott Wilson and Professor Steven Rousso-Schindler of the Anthropology Department at CSULB.
