Program Highlights

City: Querétaro is one of Mexico’s most well-known and beautiful colonial cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located north of Mexico City, many people move here from the capital city for a better quality of life.

University: The Tec is a major university system with 32 campuses throughout Mexico. CSU IP students study at Tec’s Querétaro campus, which was founded in 1975 and enrolls about 5,000 students in over 20 programs.

Academics: Earn Major, Minor, and General Education credit.

Tuition: Same tuition cost as home CSU campus.

Language of Instruction: Spanish

Special Notes: Native Spanish speakers with strong composition skills can "test out" of the language prerequisites listed in the program requirements. Please contact your IP coordinator for details.


About Tecnológico de Monterrey

The Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, better known as "the Tec", is a major university system with 32 campuses throughout Mexico. The Tec focuses on social responsibility and giving back to the community, with their graduates completing an average of 550 community service hours over the course of their studies.

CSU IP students study at Tec’s Querétaro campus, which enrolls about 5,000 students in over 20 programs, including international relations, digital art and design, and global business.

The Mexico: Education & Child Development at Tecnológico de Monterrey program is an excellent opportunity for students who are considering teaching as a career to add an international component to their degree program. The program is best suited for students majoring in education, liberal studies, child development, or a closely related field.

After taking a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival, Students enroll in Spanish language courses appropriate to their level. Additionally, students take courses in Latin American civilization, intercultural communication, and the Mexican education system. Each semester, students also experience education in Mexico through a classroom internship in public and private schools at the primary level in Querétaro. Through coursework at the Tec and assisting teachers in schools, students gain valuable experience in working with Mexican children in school settings while enhancing their understanding of the Spanish language and Mexican culture.
